Portugal get past Denmark in a tight two leg Nations League quarter-final after losing the first leg 1-0. The Quinas returned home and defeated the Danes 5-2 in additional extra time to advance to the Final Four of the competition for the second time

Ronaldo was held scoreless in the first leg at Denmark and when he missed a penalty early into the second leg, Portugal hearts dropped. The captain would later make amends for his penalty miss scoring in the game

Bernardo Silva hits his 100th cap for Portugal in Nations League quarter-finals

Portugal will face Germany on their rivals own soil in the Nations League Final Four

The revamped 2024-25 UEFA Nations League competition and how it works

Bernardo Silva became the eighth Portuguese player to hit 100 Caps with his homeland after starting in the second leg contest against Denmark. Bernardo has scored thirteen goals for the Quinas, while providing twenty-eight assists and he made his first appearance for Portugal against Cape Verde in a 2015 friendly and scored his first Portugal goal against Gibraltor in 2016.

Portugal have advanced into their second Nations League Final Four and will play hosts Germany in one of two semi-finals and will play on June 4, 2025 in Munich’s Allianz Arena. The winner of this contest will advance into the Finals on June 8, 2025 at Allianz Arena against the winner of the other semi-final that will see Spain take on France in a rematch of the semi-final at Euro 2024. Portugal’s only other appearance in the Final Four of this competition saw the Quinas capture the 2019 title in Portugal with a 1-0 defeat of the Netherlands.

UEFA has once again revamped their Nations League competition that now sees the top two countries in the A Group advance to a two leg home and home quarter-final with the winners advancing to the Final Four tournament which is normally hosted by one of the four countries. The fourth place squad in League A drops to League B, while the third place finisher will play the runner up in League B for a spot in League A.
