The New Formatted League Cup (Taca da Liga) will feature only 8 clubs going forward, the Top 6 teams in the Portuguese League and Top 2 teams from the Second Division during the previous season. The League will be looking at taking the Final Four of the competition abroad starting with next season’s competition with the USA, Canada, Switzerland and France all options.
