WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• This will be the first time that FC Porto and Torreense meet in the Super Cup, the two clubs come into the competition having won the Portuguese League (FC Porto) and the Taca de Portugal (Torreense) last season.
• FC Porto go into the game with their championship winning squad pretty much intact while adding a few key pieces in returning striker Andre Silva and midfielder In-beom Hwang.
• FC Porto are the all time leaders in Super Cup titles, having won the trophy 24 times. They last captured the Super Cup in 2024 with a win over Sporting 4-3.
• Torreense are only the second club to play in the Super Cup not having been in the first division the prior season, matching Leixoes who finished runner up in the Taca de Portugal back in 2002 and entered the contest after Sporting won both the League and Taca in the same year.
• Torreense have added a couple of key pieces to their squad in striker Jorge Aguirre and left back Juan Maria Alcedo, with both arriving on free transfers.
• FC Porto and Torreense last met in a competitive game in the 1999 Taca de Portugal’s 5th round, Torreense would go on to shock Porto with a 1-0 victory on the night.
