Portugal’s potential group opponents for Euro 2024 as pots set

Bruno Fernandes has had his best ever qualifying campaign for Portugal and has shined for the Quinas since the arrival of new manager Roberto Martinez. Fernandes has scored six goals while providing eight assists during Portugal’s Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. It is fair to say that Fernandes has been Portugal’s best player and played a huge part in them qualifying comfortably for Euro 2024, set to take place next summer in Germany.

Jose Sa earned his first official cap with Portugal when he was named as the starting keeper, when Portugal got set to take on Liechtenstein in the last round of qualifying games. The appearance was a long time coming for the 30 year old keeper, who has patiently awaited for the call for a long period of time. Sa’s start will be a memorable one for him as he earned a clean sheet with Portugal’s 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein, **stopping the lone shot that was put on net.**

Portugal’s fantastic qualifying performance has earned them a place in pot 1 for the upcoming Euro 2024 group draw. Portugal is joined in Pot 1 by hosts Germany. Spain, France, Belgium and England. Which means they will avoid facing any of these nations until the knockout stage. Pot 2 will include Turkey, Denmark, Hungary, Romania, Austria and Albania. Pot 3 has Netherlands, Croatia, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Czech Rep. While the final pot will have Italy, Serbia, Switzerland and the three playoff winning nations.
