Cristiano Ronaldo has scored seven goals in qualifying, leading the national side and showing that he is aging like a fine port wine

Bruno Fernandes has best qualifying campaign for Portugal

Roberto Martinez gives players their first call-ups with Portugal

Goncalo Ramos continues torrid goal scoring pace with Portugal

Bruno Fernandes has had his best ever qualifying campaign for Portugal and has shined for the Quinas since the arrival of new manager Roberto Martinez. Fernandes has scored five goals while providing eight assists during the first eight group qualifying games. It is fair to say that Fernandes has been Portugal’s best player and played a huge part in them qualifying comfortably for Euro 2024, set to take place next summer in Germany.
Roberto Martinez has not shied away from calling a host of players under his first qualifying campaign with Portugal for the first time, from Benfica’s Joao Neves, to Sporting’s Goncalo Inacio and Wolves Toti Gomes. Look for Martinez to reward more players with their first call-ups with the national team, as the nation has two meaning less games remaining, and has guaranteed itself top spot in the group, and will be seeded in the tournament draw.
Goncalo Ramos has continued to score goals for Portugal after first introducing himself to global soccer fans at World Cup 2022. The young 22 year old has scored seven goals in just nine appearances with Portugal mostly in a back up role to Ronaldo. Ramos has appeared in just 360 minutes (4 games) of action with Portugal which makes his goal scoring prowess all that more remarkable and has a long career in front of him.
